The Opportunity:

As a Security Analyst at Roehl Transport, you will play a hands-on role in protecting enterprise systems, identities, and data across a hybrid on-prem and cloud environment. You’ll support day‑to‑day security operations including threat detection and response, vulnerability management, identity and access governance, and security monitoring across Microsoft and third‑party platforms.

You will investigate alerts, analyze logs, assist with incident response, and help drive remediation efforts across IT teams. This role partners closely with infrastructure, application, business intelligence and support teams to reduce risk, improve security posture, and support audit and compliance initiatives. You’ll also contribute to improving security processes, documentation, and tooling as the organization continues to mature its security program.

The Experience:

This is a security operations–focused role. The ideal candidate will have experience with many of the following:

  • Monitoring and responding to security alerts, events, and incidents
  • Investigating suspicious activity using logs from endpoints, identity platforms, network devices, and cloud services
  • Assisting with incident response activities such as containment, remediation, documentation, and post‑incident review
  • Vulnerability scanning, assessment, and remediation tracking
  • Supporting identity and access management activities (user access reviews, privileged account monitoring, MFA, Conditional Access)
  • Reviewing and helping secure service accounts, admin accounts, and authentication workflows
  • Maintaining security documentation and audit‑support artifacts
  • Collaborating with infrastructure, application, business intelligence, and support teams to remediate security findings
  • Understanding basic security concepts such as least privilege, defense‑in‑depth, phishing, malware, and credential compromise

Preferred and Plus Skills:

  • Experience with Microsoft security technologies (Entra ID / Azure AD, Conditional Access, M365 security logs)
  • Familiarity with endpoint detection and response tools
  • Experience with security partners or managed detection services (e.g., Arctic Wolf or similar)
  • Exposure to vulnerability management tools (Nessus, ManageEngine, Qualys, or similar)
  • Knowledge of Windows and/or Linux system administration concepts
  • Basic scripting or automation experience (PowerShell or similar)
  • Experience supporting audits, penetration tests, or compliance initiatives
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly
