The Job:

As Vice President of Commercial Sales you lead our commercial sales team in building, developing, and growing customer relationships across our operating area. You are the catalyst in the development and execution of strategic business priorities in the field, always looking for ways to deliver a win for Roehl and for our valued customers. Your primary focus is to support and develop your team as they actively attract, engage, develop and retain customers whose book of business aligns with our lane flow strategies.

You and your team work closely with Customer Service and Pricing to identify freight hauling needs, development of lane flow strategies, competitive pricing strategies, on-boarding new customers, and continued customer relationship management.  

You report directly to our CEO. You will work out of our of our corporate office in Marshfield, WI. Full relocation assistance will be offered. 


What You Do:
  • Work closely with our CEO, Vice President of Operations, and Vice President of Customer Service to develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy that supports our overall lane flow strategy
    • Work directly with your Regional Sales Managers on the tactical execution of the sales strategy in their geographic area
  • Maintain and build strong relationships and grow volume and margin with our current customers
    • Facilitate open communication with customers to assess their current and future freight hauling needs and identify how Roehl can provide creative solutions 
  • Prospect, research, and identify new customers for Roehl Transport that align with our lane flow strategies
  • Prepare and present proposals and solutions to potential and current customers
  • Act as a liaison between the customers and internal Roehl departments, e.g. Pricing, Customer Service, A/R, Credit, Billing, etc.
  • Work closely with your commercial sales team to review CRM activity, business development, reporting and communication of sales meetings, and prospecting of new customers

Additionally we are looking for:
  • At least 3 years executive leadership of a truckload transportation sales team
  • Ability to travel extensively
  • Strong presentation skills to an executive audience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and proven ability to provide creative solutions and vision relative to closing on targeted strategic accounts
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite or software; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Valid drivers license plus insurance required
