Safety Medical Assistant

The Opportunity:
As a Safety Medical Assistant with Roehl Transport, you are responsible for ensuring current drivers as well as applicants meets Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR) medical qualifications. You will work closely with our Driver Recruiting and Safety departments, potential Roehl Drivers (applicants), third party medical agencies, and others to coordinate the flow of pre-employment physicals and drug testing program.
The Fit:
In this position, you will review medical qualification documents for all incoming drivers, ensure drug screen and physicals are completed and cleared in a timely manner, and review re-certification DOT physicals and provide clearance. Therefore, you need:
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Well-developed oral and written communication skills. Ability to interact effectively with internal and external customs throughout the organization.
- Well-developed knowledge of medical terminology.
- Trustworthiness and good judgment in handling confidential materials.
- Working knowledge of web-based applications as well as Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
