The Opportunity:

As a Safety Medical Assistant with Roehl Transport, you are responsible for ensuring current drivers as well as applicants meets Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR) medical qualifications. You will work closely with our Driver Recruiting and Safety departments, potential Roehl Drivers (applicants), third party medical agencies, and others to coordinate the flow of pre-employment physicals and drug testing program.  

The Fit:

In this position, you will review medical qualification documents for all incoming drivers, ensure drug screen and physicals are completed and cleared in a timely manor, and review recertification DOT physicals and provide clearance. Therefore, you need:

• Working knowledge of the driver medical qualifications required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Well-developed oral and written communication skills. Ability to interact effectively with internal and external customs throughout the organization.
• Well-developed knowledge of medical terminology.
• Knowledge of HIPAA Law Requirements.
• Trustworthiness and good judgment in handling confidential materials.
• Working knowledge of web-based applications as well as Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
• Strong organizational skills.

The Experience:

A background in medical terminology, CNA/Medical Assistant is helpful but not required.  Ability to identify medical conditions/medications that could affect a drivers ability to operate a vehicle is a plus.   Experience with Microsoft Office is a must and experience in an office setting is a plus. We will provide you with comprehensive training to ensure that you will be successful in your new career!


The Schedule:

This is a Monday through Friday schedule. Your workday starts at 7:00 am and ends at 4:00 pm.
