The Job:
As Operations Finance Manager, you make a difference by leading the operational and financial analysis of our entire enterprise. You use your understanding of how revenue is generated in a truckload company and translate that into reliable business metrics that allow us to make informed business decisions and improve financial results.     



What You Do:

Financial Leadership

  • Engage and interact with key stakeholders at all levels of the organization on operational improvements designed to improve productivity
  • Lead the collection adn analysis of cas data related to contribution margin results; main focus on equipment utilization and direct labor absorption
  • Lead the investigation, explanation and support of variance analysis of labor efficiency, variable overhead spending and fixed overhead spending
  • Manage and lead the margin analysis review monthly (Strategic Pricing Analysis - SPA)
  • Participate in the Monthly Business Review to enhance leaders understanding and insight of the financial aspects of the business
  • Collaborate with the finance team on financial and reporting matters
  • Assist finance team with period close activities

Compensation and KPI Reward Management

  • Set performance targets for KPI reward management
  • Update and publish the KPI reward scorecards
  • Manage the creation and updating of driver pay tables

Operational Report Management

  • Partner with the BI team to develop and publish operation reports for business decision making
  • Partner with the BI team to ensure data integrity in the data warehouse
  • Collaborate with the BI team to develop weekly margin reporting by various attributes
  • Create and publish operational reports
  • Develop dashboard indicators
Business Support
  • Actively participate in the pricing process with sales and operations teams by analyzing costs, margins and trends
  • Evaluation of new business opportunities
  • Lad finance, sales and operations team members as appropriate; this includes participation in meetings, becoming a more informed and valuable member of teams and therefore the organization overall

The Experience:

We are looking for someone with experience in cost accounting and a record of helping to establish performance metrics, cost accounting, financial analysis and improved business performance in a dynamic business environment such as transportation or manufacturing.

 

You must have advanced technical skills in the following areas:

  • Data mining using a variety of systems, including MS Access, MS Excel Query, MS Power Query, SQL and other MS BI tools

  • Advanced MS Excel abilities evidenced by the ability to write queries, macros, pivot tables and charts
